Here you will receive a briefing on the history of Duckett's Grove, details of the paranormal activity encountered there over the years and will be instructed on how to use the equipment that will be given to you for the purpose of the investigation. Duckett's Grove is reputed to be one of the most haunted places in Ireland and was even investigated by an international paranormal group for a SyFy show, "Destination Truth" in 2011 following reports that a banshee haunts the old ruins.
During the day, Duckett's Grove is full of life and is a very popular tourist destination with its' two beautifully restored walled gardens, forest walks, tea rooms and craft shops. However by night, it's completely different and many can even sense the energy building as the sun goes down. Some paranormal activity encountered at the site has also been less than friendly over the years and as a result, you have to be over the age of 18 to complete an investigation and be willing to sign a waiver upon arrival. If for any reason you become uncomfortable during the investigation, we will arrange for you to be brought back to the barn to await your group.
The investigation will include the walled gardens, the forest walk and fairy bridge, the old courtyard incorporating underground tunnels and a secret location which will be revealed on the night. The paranormal should be respected and regardless of your beliefs, you will be there on the night as a guest and as such you are requested to act appropriately and show respect at all times both to members of your group, your lead investigators and to the spirits that may be present. We will have security present at each event and any person deemed to be acting inappropriately will be asked to leave, without reimbursement.
The entire event will last approx. two and a half hours and will include a 30 minute briefing, a 90 minute investigation and a 30 minute debrief. These times are approximate and are subject to change. Free parking is available on-site and complimentary tea/coffee will be available throughout the evening. The weather in Ireland at that time of year is cold, so we advise that you dress suitably. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear especially as you will be walking outdoors, in near darkness and on uneven ground. Organizers reserve the right to refuse admission if appropriate footwear is not worn. Mobile phones can also give our equipment false readings, therefor all participants will be required to store their phones in a secure location on-site prior to the investigation taking place.
